Accessibility

We aim for WCAG 2.1 level AA. As a private provider without paid services we consider ourselves not currently subject to the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG); we follow it voluntarily.

What we do

  • Text contrast per WCAG AA (cream on black 17.7:1; black on paper above 14:1; white on evidence red 5.9:1).
  • Keyboard operation, visible focus, skip link, consistent headings, language set per page and per quote.
  • Motion only if your device has not asked to reduce it: with “reduce motion”, image motion, ticker and all animations are off.
  • Colour is never the only cue: every evidence colour is also written as a word; “open” is dashed.
  • Videos have burned-in subtitles; every on-screen statement is listed as text on the episode’s source page.
  • Works from 320 px width without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

  • No audio description for videos.
  • Source quotes are in the English original of the transcripts.
  • Testing is our own (automated and visual); an external audit is pending.
